Wes here, I'm also interested in this line. Abner did come from O'Rear will. I have a copy. In touch with members of Jesse's family. I have seen Abner's name listed as Aben, Eben. Jesse had a son named Levin. That name is very common, is in my direct line. The Elizabeth Covey who married William O'Rear was the daughter of Abner Covey.
Two sets of Covey's in TN Maury/Franklin. So far no proven connection. Jesse's line claim kin to Maury/Hardin line. I have my doubts. I have them part of John Covey's family from VA. later of Franklin Co. TN
