These are most definitely the people you talked about in your post. I'm headed back to read again what you say and will let you know if I know any more information.
Johnston District was early Upper Canada, later Ontario province. Township of Elizabeth is in the Brockville, Ontario vicinity.
My Covey's were from Athens/ Charleston Lake area, 15 minutes from Brockville. My brick wall is Samuel Covey who married Sarah Patterson. He would have been born about 1811 and she about 1815. I cannot break past him to know his origins or family.
