“James Covey and Sarah Lanphere both of the town of Westerly in ye Colony of Rhode Island joined together in marriage ye 21st day of March Anno Domini, 1708 in Westerly by Peter Crandall, Justice. James Covey was born the 4th day of ye first month, 1687.
(Anno Domini - Latin for The Year Of Our Lord - used in the Gregorian Calendar to refer to the current era).
But, using old system dating, which was in effect, their marriage year would actually be 1707/08 and his birth 1686/7 - I think.
Also in birthdate posting for kids of James and Sarah, put in James and Mary by mistake in referring to the kids.
