My records are incomplete, but a Mary A. Covey, sister to my grandmother Covey's first husband George, married a man named Grey. They are offspring of George and Aurelia Ann. The Grey farm continued in that family name until the 1980's, and is now a county park, located about a mile west of Simon Covey's old farm in southwestern Mahaska County, Ia., across the Des Moines River from the ghost town of Rochester. Contact the Mahaska County Geneology group via the net, and ask for information from the reprint of the 1886 Mahaska County History. Or, see if it might be available from Interlibrary loan. I only met old Mrs. Grey once, in the 1960's, and did not know we were related, or I would certainly have taken more interest in her.
