I knew I recongized the Rawlings name. I was thinking in another direction. Anyway, found them. Another thing that through me was, I never knew the family wa sin that area, always found them in Jackson and Lawrence Co., Ark. List line is a puzzle. I've been in touch with some of the relatives, they claim kin to my line, but records and other info points to the Coveys that came out of Franklin Co., Tn. Here's what I have..... Leroy David Covey born Mar 1886 Jackson Co., Ark. married Rena Rawlings, had the following kids; Stella 1904, Thomas 1906, Alvin 1908, Martha 1911, Dave 1914, and Mary 1919, all born in Marion Co., Ark. Leroy's parents were Lvein H. "Live" and Martha Staggs Covey, pr-parents were Jesse and Sara O'rear Covey. From here things start getting confusing. Supposely, Jesse's parents are John and Sara Cook Covey. Jesse was born in Franklin Co., Tn. Like I said, some of this line says they are related to the Coveys from the Maury and Hardin Co., Tn., which is my line. and if you go by the names in the family and where they settled, you would have to agree, but nothing else fits. The only proven connection that's been mad between the Franklin Co., coveys and my clan is through my Grt-grt-grt-grd-mother, Sara Edwards Covey, her aunt married a Campbell, and down through the line, Thompsons' come into the picture and married into the Coveys from Franklin Co. Others say the connection goes back to 1639. The name Levin is very common in my line, but not in the other branch. Another thing, Jesse and a brother, Aben, who married Sally's sister both lived around my people. Others from Franklin and Bedford Co., Tn. once they went into Ark, settled in the Benton Co., area. Leroy had at lease 2 brothers and a sister, I have some info on them. Infact, one of the brothers families lives about two hours from me. I live in Spokane Wa. I'm wass born and raised in Memphis, but have been here since "84". Would likje to see what you have on Leroy's line. Will send what I have. Wes "wescovey@hotmail.com"
