Wes, I saw somewhere that you are doing research on Poteau and Guntown, MS this may just be a wild goose chase or it could why Covey was in the area at the time. Here is what I got this week. American, a weekly newspaper, since 1929; member of the State senate 1926-1942, serving as Democratic floor leader in 1929 and 1930 and as president pro tempore in 1933 and 1934; Acting Governor in 1933; engaged in cattle raising, farming, and hotel business; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-eighth and Seventy-ninth Congresses (January 3, 1943-January 3, 1947); was not a candidate for renomination in 1946; resumed former business pursuits and is a resident of Antlers, Okla.
