Yes, I was surprised to hear from you too, based on the fact that other than our posts, there was only one other message on the board!Another family name of mine is "Henne" and, the last time I checked, there was about 177 for that unusual name.I just put the post out with a "what the heck" attitude.
I live in Florida and have never been to PA.Sadie Couser married a man named Lawrence Bernard (my great grandfather) from a French immigrant family. They lived a while and my grandmother was born in New Eagle (I'm assuming this was close). Not too long after they moved to Charleston, WV.From there, my grandmother (Sarah Bernard) eloped at age 17 and moved to Florida. She lived out her life there as did her daughter (my mother) and, other than some short moves, I have predominantly lived here.I would however, like to visit Washington County, PA and dig through some archives to fill in some blanks.
I wonder how the Cousers ended up in little Donora from Scotland?I know my great-grandfather was a glass-blower.Hmmm, could there ever have been some sort of glass-related factory there that lured immigrants to town with jobs? I always wonder about the stories behind these names and dates that I have collected.
Thanks again,
Kim
