Solomon Courtright and Esther Stevens 1850 Ohio
My great great grandfather was Gilbert Courtright, born in Ohio. Some sources list his father as Solomon Courtright, son of Solomon, Sr., who was son of Bastien, who was son of Hendrick.
Other sources list Gilbert's father as Samuel Courtright, who was son of Samuel, Sr., who was son of Arien, who was son of Hendrick.
In all sources, both were married to Esther Stevens and their children were Harriet, Gilbert, George, Mary and Maria. Both Solomon and Samuel were near the same age. But their birthplaces are different--Solomon in NY and Samuel in NJ.
Samuel, Esther and the children are in the 1850 census of Delaware Co.,OH. Solomon is not.
Yet Solomon is buried with Esther in Union Co., OH. I'd think they are the same person except for having different fathers and grandfathers and places of birth.
Does anyone have information that would clear this up?
