Mr Beedy, My gr grandmother Alice Martha Courtright Flint was the sister of your ancester Abiah Ann Courtright Beedy. One of my 2nd cousins did extensive research on the family in the 60's. I too have been searching for information on Samuel Courtright but have found nothing. I have some info on his 1st wife Jane Rodgers, her parents etc. Jane died in November 1851 4 months after the death of two of her daughters, Electa Delilah and Rebecka Ellen. They are buried in Bloom's Grove Cemetery in Rockville Township, Kankakee County, Ill. James Campbell, Alice and Ann's older brother died Feb 1856 and is buried there also. In April 1856 Samuel married Sarah Ann Rowe, sister to my gr gr grandmother Margaret Rowe Flint.Two of Ann's brothers, Samuel Franklin (Frank) and Amos served in the 64th Yates Sharpshooters as did Jacob Kneadler, husband to Mary Jane Courtright Kneadler, a sister of Alice and Ann's. I believe Samuel met Jane in Ohio, possibly in or around Shelby in Richland Co. The info I have says she was born there. Her father was John Rogers who had 3 or 4 brothers and sisters. Jane had 4 or 5 brothers and sisters of which I have no other info except their names. The only ifo I have of Samuel other than his children and marriage info is that he was born in Western Pennsylvania, though where I don't know. Have you found out anything on him?
