David, I will answer this and your message of the 25th together, okay? I thank you for your gracious correction of the misinformation in your post of June 6th, David, but now you want me to change a statement that was correct??? I know that this a truth that you don't want to accept, David, but court records will show that Max Courtney DID prove that the picture of Diana had been altered, I DID present my findings on the Courtney family, and the judge DID then deny Mrs Duke's request for exhumation. Anyone having any lingering doubts about the picture of Diana being altered need only to ge to www.andruss.net/courtney.htm. The picture there was altered on a home computer, so one doesn't have to be a forensic scientist to prove that it can be done. But David, any time you mention that picture, you talk in vague abstracts about tintypes possibly being reversed, when it is obvious to even a casual observer that the original was NOT a tintype. You have never commented on the fact the the original picture in the hands of a grandson of Theodore N Haun clearly shows Diana sitting with both hands in her lap. So how does the picture in the Duke book show her with no right hand, if it hasn't been altered?

David, you say that "from my own experiences and observing others doing research, I have found that the truly objective researcher wants to interview all parties". So why hasn't Mrs Duke called me, to interview me? I am sure that she knows by now that I have much information on the Courtney/Haun family that she overlooked. If she is truly objective, wouldn't she want this information before forming her conclusions and opinions? You also say that "in a week or so" you will be commenting on my November 11th entry. I do hope that your response will be a well documented statement of facts, and not a recap of old rumors and statements of support from descendants of Jesse James friends. Betty's book was extremely one-sided, with no posibility of JLC really being the one buried there in Blevins cemetery, and I felt that everyone should have facts supporting the Courtney family so that readers could make an informed opinion.

You then go on to say..."one more time I will say this next one, hoping I will get a complete response". Maybe the reason you have never gotten a complete response, David, is because you always address this question to the wrong person. I will give it my best shot, though....you aren't really clear, here, David, about which picture are questioning. Mr Shelton supplied Mrs Duke with a picture of Travis Barron, the brother of JLC's wife Ellen Barron Courtney. Mrs Duke presented this picture of a slender faced young man, semi-receding hairline as a picture of a young JLC. The fact that Visionics verified the picture of Travis Barron as being a picture of Jesse James, might make some question the veracity of computer matching.

I will be leaving in a few days on another research trip (on my own family, this time) but I am sure you will have your response posted by the time I return. Please David, don't let me down...Just the facts, son, just the facts.

Regards,

Kathy

By the way, David, who is Melissa Roberts?
