I'm looking for information on Ida Courtney (born 8 Aug 1887) who was my great grandmother. She was the daughter of Daniel Courtney and Rachel Dehoff. Ida was married to William McConnell. I have a real mystery on my hands. There were four children born to Ida and William with Edith McConnel being my grandmother. When my grandmother was around 8, William McConnell was said to have run off with another woman and Ida went insane from losing her husband and ended up in a mental hospital. My grandmother and her sister ended up in the care of William McConnell's sister while the the two sons of William and Ida ended up in the care of William's parents.I have confirmed this through census records.I also found out that William McConnell ended up with a new family years later in Michigan. The question is what happed to Ida Courtney? Ida was never heard from again and I can find no records of her after her family fell apart. I do know that William's sister disowned William and gave my grandmother along with her sisters and brothers unacurate information on what really happened. Any information would be greatly apprecated.
