Could someone explain the relationship of the courtnell/courtnall/courtney surnames. I have found reference of Courtnell in the 1600 during the reign of King James. Do the surnames become separated due to a miss spelling or melding of employment. I am presently working on the Courtnell Family Genealogy and would appreciate any help.
