I am not sure if you have found your answer. There is a Catherine Courtenay who married Thomas Rogers in 1483 in England. The Courtenays were a well-known and well-connected family. A relative of Catherine's, Edward (Earl of Devon) was once considered a suitor for Mary, Queen of Scots during the time of the rule of Mary's cousin, Elizabeth I. Being a papist, Edward did not find favor in the court of Good Queen Bess and it is unclear to me when or where he died. Edward was considered one of the last of the Plantagenets (i.e. the lineage of King Edward "Longshanks" I. King Edward is my 21st Gr Grandfather, as I am descendent from one of Edward's brothers.
