Hi Sarah,
I agree James McCourt is almost certainly a brother of your ancestor Michael and my ancestor Robert Court. Can't find birth/baptism record but found marriage record 1846 for James Court and Agnes Mckean on Scotlands People, Scottish census record 1851 for James & Agnes Court, with son James, plus IGI death record for James McCourt 21 Jan 1903. I don't live in USA - born UK, now in Australia. Sorry I have no further details on James, but would certainly be interested in the US census info to add to the family history.
