Hi Roxanne,
No, the Brisset dit Courchesne (et al) family are originally from Ireland & that Courchesne may be "Heart of Oaks" while our family is from the Dordogne area of southern France and are the "Short Oaks". Although people like Hal Ricky Courchesne have descendency from both the Brisset & Foucault, so in his case he is related to both lines & I'm sure there are others "out there" in the same situation. Also remember people like Marco Polo had experiences in the East.
