Hi Rosilyn (and Lorraine)
I am a descendent of Donald Couper b. Wick 31 Oct C 1844. I have a photocopy of a Certificate of Discharge from the Southern Cross at the Port of Hobart Town dated 21 Sept 1866. Donald married Mary Jane Bailey 2 Sept 1867 in Adelaide. They lived in Edithburgh SA for awhile which is where Jessie Harper Couper was born 19 Dec 1883.

What I have on their children thus far:
Ann 1868-, Mary Elizabeth (my ggrandmother) 1870-1935, Laura Jane 1874-, Donald Alexander 1876-1949, Edith Alice 1879-1880, Lily Rosina 1881-1967, Jessie Harper 1883-, Adelaide Blanche 1886-. Possibly also Helen Couper 19 Dec 1871.

Mary Jane Bailey Birth Cert (very very hard to read) indicates, 19 Feb 1842, F John Bailey, Mo Ann Bailey formerly Turner (very hard to read) of Awliscombe county of Devon in the Sub District of Honiton.

I will also see what I can find out about Jessie for you if you are still looking.

Marie Noble, South Australia
