(3)John Countryman, born 1752, died August 9, 1811, Philadephia. He was an AmericanRevolutionary Soldier, as was his brother (1 above), Andrew . Was a baker at 205 South Third St. . A laborer at German St. between 3rd and 4th .. Married Ann_____.d. 9/14/1811
Children of John and Ann:
(1) John Countryman, born October 10, 1785, died December 23, 1856. Married Mary Kirk, born August 14, 1788, married 1810/1812 in Lancaster County, South Carolina ,died May 25, 1852. They owned a farm there and in the 1830’s sold the farm and moved to the Ebenezer Community in Sumter County, Georgia. Sumter County was not created until 1857 and included the portion of Sumter County where the Countryman Family lived. You will notice these names show up from time to time.Ebenezer is a community near Ellaville. It is also the adjacent community to Shilow, in Sumter County.Ebenezer is in Schley. The Cemetery is across the road from the Ebenezer Baptist Church and only a few miles west of Ellaville.

Regarding Mary Kirk who married our John Countryman (1785—1856): See how the names Kirk and Mathew show. In the year 1773 Captain James Kirk and his wife , Agnes Edmondson Kirk, with their three sons, Mathew, Robert and John came to America from Ireland. They settled in or near Alexandria, Viginia. James was born 1720, died 1783, Married (1) Agnes Edmondson (Edmiston), born 1733, died 1765. Married(2) Margaret_______ .
James and Agnes Kirk’s three sons;
(1) Mathew, born 1760 died June 2, 1839, married Grace Johnson.
(2) John married the daughter of Hugh Montgomery.
(3) Robert, no info.
The three sons came to Lancaster District (the old Waxhaw area) and settled there. John later migrated to Tennessee in 1820 and his descendants are still there. Mathew and Robert remained in South Carolina. They had an older brother, James Kirk, Jr., who remained in Maleymony, Ireland with his wife and family. Several families migrated to Georgia, Alabama and other points west.
The children of Mathew (1 above) and Grace Johnson Kirk:
(1) Mary Kirk, born August 14, 1788, died May 25, 1852, married John Countryman (1785—1856).
(2) William Kirk married a daughter of The Rev. Thomas Kitchen and migrated to Pickens County, Alabama.
(3) Rebecca Kirk married Henry Coffee. They migrated to Columbus, Georgia about 1822. Rebecca died in Marion County, Georgia, at the age of 90 years.
(4) James Kirk (1794—1857) married; (1) Jane Walker who died in 1834. They had moved to Alabama about 1818. (2) Elizabeth Moore Walker.
(5) Robert Kirk married _______Kitchen. Moved to Alabama.
(6) Agnes Kirk married John Harper of Lancaster County, South Carolina.
(7) Grace Kirk died 1840, married James M. Shaver.
(8) Matthew Biggart Kirk (1812—1852) married 1832 Mary (Polly) Harper, born 1813 died 1894. This family moved to Georgia.
Notice Matthew is also spelled Mathew, throughout.
John (1785—1856) and Mary Kirk Countryman’s children:
(1) Martha, born November 21, 1812 married Samuel Caskey. Children; Margaret, Richard married Jane Sims, Andrew Marion married Martha E. Battle, Pinckney, and Mary
Elizabeth married Samuel Thomas Harper.
(2) Mathew Kirk, born Febuary 27, 1814 married Margaret Small. 0
Children: Mary, John Marion, Henry Alonza and Mathew Kirk.
(3) Andrew B., born October 7, 1816 died Febuary 21, 1881, married 1847 Susan E. Kinard, born September 30, 1830 died September 11, 1918. He is buried in unmarked grave at Ebenezer Cemetary in Schley County. She is buried at Hopewell Cemetary in Schley County, Georgia.
Children of Andrew B. and Susan E. Countryman:
(1)Mary, born 1852, married James Henry Sellers.
(2)Jane, born 1855, married _________ Bridges.
Susan Kinard Countryman married Henry Garland Daniel. after the death of Andrew B., He died 1894. Susan Kinard Countryman Daniel died at the home of her daughter, Jane Sellers in 1918.
Children of John and Mary Kirk Countryman continued:
(4) Cynthia G/, born January 7, 1818 died June 24, 1887, married John H. Harper, born August 25,
1811 died January 10, 3.876. Both are buried at Old Mount Tabor near Friendship in Sumter County, Georgia.
Children:
George Marion married Laura Pinchard, Mary Catherine married William W. Dozier.
(5) Rebecca Jane, born October 4, 1819 died November 7, 1900, married Julius Daniel, born February 15, 1820, died December 20, 1892. Both are buried in the Ebenezer Cemetary in Schley County, Georgia.

(3) Joseph died young,
