I'm not sure if it's your John countryman, but it may be.The time and locations are correct as far as I know.John Countryman was married to Mary K. Kirk, born c. 1789, in Lancaster Co., SC.According to a Kirk family "journal" written during the Civil War, they moved to Georgia. The writer (William R. Kirk) claimed to know nothing further about their lives thereafter, but another relative records that Mary died in Sumpter Co., SC.Agnes is a Kirk family given name.Mary was the oldest daughter of Mathew W. Kirk and his wife Grace Johns(t)on.There were seven other surviving children of whom my great-great grandfather James Johnston Kirk was one.I don't know anything else about your Countryman line except that I believe I recall seeing the name in the 1790 SC census for Lancaster Co.I do have a good deal of information about the Kirks if that is of any interest to you.If you know about Mary and John's descendants, I happy to glean that from you.Good luck with your search.Kathy
