Forgive me if I already posted this... Got interrupted and couldn't tell whether I completed it... I found this on another message board (Rootsweb, I think) back in the spring. Thought it might be useful to you. I'm a Kuntzelman descendant via Philip & Maria Comens... --------------------------------------- Kunselman origin Author: Peggy Capwell Jacobs Date: 3 Sep 2000 10:29 PM In Reply to: Kunselman family name by: Bill Hutton There is an article in The Pennslyvania Genealogical Magazine, Volume XXXVI--Number 2, 1989 written by Annette Kunselman Burgert about the origins of the first Kunselman who came to America. She states that a chance discovery by well known German geneaologist, Carla Mittelstaedt-Kubaseck, located a marriage record in a Lutheran Church book at Wendelsheim, in Rheinland-Pfalz for the immigrent Bartholomai Kuntzelnann, the first Kunselman immigrant to America (arrived in 1741). The name and its variations traces back to German and Swiss origin. Her article traces four generations in America. You might get a copy from the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania, 1300 Locust Street, Philadelphia 19107 or from Annette Kunselman Burgert at 691 Weavertown Rd., Myerstown, Pa.17067. She had a few left when I ordered mine last month. Good luck. Peggy Capwell Jacobs Notify Administrator about this message?
