John COULTER, died 1923 Winnipeg.
For some 7 months I have been trying to find descendants of a John Coulter. He was born in 1889 in Ireland, emigrated to Ireland, joined the Canadian army, and served in World War I. (He lost his identitiy disc, which we - a Belgian team of WW I battlefield archaeologists The Diggers www.diggers.be- found beginning of this year.) He survived, went back to Winnipeg, but died in 1923.
I learned a lot about him, except two things : whether he was married or not, and had children. Apparently he was not, but I am not sure.
Now I found that he died at St. Boniface Hospital (15 March 1923)and was buried on Tuesday 20 March in BROOKSIDE CEMETERY in Winnipeg.
Is anybody out there in Winnipeg a helpful soul ? I would like to know if that cemetery and that grave still exist, and if so, if the name of a wife is written on the tombstone. A photo (scanned ?) of course would be wonderful ...
