Martha Elizabeth COULTER or PARTIN? b.1856 GA >CO >OK
Who is the wife of John P. McCormack?
The 1880 Census for Coldwater Dist.17, Chattooga County, GA, lists John and Lizzie McCormack with two young sons, Willie and Gordon. I believe John and Lizzie are the same people who are found in Choctaw Nation, IT, in the 1900 Census:
John Paul McCormack b.abt.Nov.1851 GA,
married Martha (Unknown) b.abt.Oct.1856 GA,
m. about 1875,
James W(illiam?) b.Mar 1877 GA
Thomas Gordon b.Nov.1878 GA
John E(dward or Edgar?) b.1881 GA
George Robert b.June 1883 GA
John F. b.Mar.1886 CO
Albert Sidney b.Apr.1888 CO
Elmer E(rnest?). b.27 Apr.1890 La Vita, CO
David R. b.Aug.1893 CO
I need to know "Lizzie"'s full name...is it possible that she was Martha Elizabeth COULTER or PARTIN?
Any information either confirming or disputing this theory is much appreciated. Thank you, Tina Roye
The following is a simplified timeline concerning this family's migration:
1) In 1880 I believe this family was living in the Coldwater Dist 17 of Chattooga County,GA (but this is not proven yet);
2) After June 1883 but before March 1886, the family moved to Colorado with the first four children (exact location unknown);
3) After August 1893 but before June 1900, the family moved with their eight boys to Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, Twp.3N, Rng.25E (this area later became Leflore County, OK);
4) 1900 U.S. Federal Census shows this family of ten to have an additional member, an adopted daughter Linda (or Luda?) Tankersley b.Mar.1877 TN;
5) By 1910 the family is living in Stilwell, Adair County, OK, the U.S. Federal Census shows that five of their eight children are still living at that time: John E., Albert Sidney, and Elmer E. are still in the parent's home, while Thomas Gordon and George R. are living nearby in Stilwell;
6) In 1910 John and Martha's family has acquired two new members: Annie HEARSE b.1897 AR; and Ola HEARSE b.1900 AR, the two girls are listed as adopted daughters;
7) Ola is my grandmother, thus my interest in finding the McCormack family in hopes that they can shed some light on my grandmother's origins.
