COUILLARD-Blois,France 13-20thC

Can you trace your Couillard ancestry to France?

The Couillard branch of my family was living next to Blois, France, from the 13th C. until the early 20th C. (my grand mother).

Their village was named Saint-Victor-Les-Blois. In the 18th C. it merged with another village, La Chaussee, to become La-Chaussee-Saint-Victor.

Blois is a city along the Loire river, in the beautiful Loire Valley; it is the capital of the Loir-et-Cher department(Department 41) and is significant in Renaissance history and architecture.

This name Couillard is not very common in France , but seems to be extremely common in French Canada. I wonder if the Canadian Couillards come from the Loire Valley.
