Guillaume Couillard, born in France, married into Canada's first non-native family when he married Marie Hebert in Quebec City in 1621. Marie had arrived in Canada on June 14, 1617 with her parents, Louis Hebert and Marie Rolet,and her sister Anne and brother Guillaume. Guillaume Couillard and Marie Hebert had 2 children, Louis [b1629] and Elizabeth [b1631].This is the start of the Couillard family in Canada.
