I am looking for information on a Thomas Coughlin (spelled several ways but that's what is on his death record). He was born 1810 in Ireland. I have seen him in connection with the Belnap family in 1870 in Cavenish,VT. But I found him (spelled Cloflin) in Springfield,VT at age 48. He was living there beside the Belknap family on a farm. He then married the wife of a Belknap man and she left her 2 baby girls and ran off with him to Cavenish,VT. He died in Cavenish in 1876. Does this sound familiar to anyone. I am looking for how he got from Ireland to VT. I can not find him on any ship logs or immigrations.
