OK. I need some help. I know there are a lot of Johns in NC, and I want to make sure that I'm not tangled up here. Don Chesnut's webpage (http://www.users.mis.net/~chesnut/gendex.htm) indicates that John Couch (b ca 1750 NC, d ca 1830 Perry Co, KY) was married twice, first to Mary Polly Boone in 1769, then to Elizabeth Campbell Dec 2, 1783. His children by Mary Polly Boone were Mary Polly Couch b 1772, Sarah "Sallie" Couch b 1773, Nancy Ann Couch b 1777. His children by Elizabeth Campbell were Martin Couch b 1785, Austin Couch b 1786, James Bartlett Couch, and John Couch b 1791. *Can anyone confirm or deny that the same John Couch was the husband of these two wives -- Mary Polly Boone and Elizabeth Campbell? *Another source, Wesley Morris' page at Rice University (http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~wamorris/wm/SURNAMES.html)lists the same (?) John Couch married to Elizabeth JAMES, who was the widow of "Old Patrick Campbell." Elizabeth James and Patrick Campbell were the parents of William Campbell, who married Nancy Ann Couch, daughter of John Couch and Mary Polly Boone. Can anybody confirm or deny this connection? *John Couch, Jr., son of John Couch and Elizabeth Campbell (?) married Jane unknown. One source provides her name as Janet Jane Campbell. Any word on this?
