My great grandfather was Elihue Couch b. 1854... he was a son of Thomas Couch and Elizabeth Campbell via his marriage certificate. His father Thomas was a son of a James Couch via his death report. I believe James and Martin were brothers and sons of ole John Couch b. 1750, and Elizabeth James, but as of right now I have no confirmation as to their being brothers.
I know what you mean about Elizabeth... when I tried to figure out my ancestry it took me a few hours to wrap my head around all the twists and turns it takes when it comes to our Campbell connections lol.
If you would like to see how it all goes (at least what I have) I have it posted on a My Family site that I own, called "Couch and Kin of Kentucky"... I'd like to invite all you Couch cousins to join our group.
I just received a copy of the John Jay Dickey Diaries and am now in the process of getting them into my word processor and have already put a couple on the site.
We have a number of death and marriage certificates on the site as well.
