With this clue I have also found Lucy and her husband in the 1900 Census. The quality of the digital image is very poor so I am having a hard time reading it. Do you have more information on the children of Lucy and C.L. Smith? In the 1900 Census she is listed as M. Lucy born June 1880. I am having a hard time reading the name of their first child.
Thomas N. Couch's parents are William Lee Couch b. abt 1807, SC and Anna B. b. abt 1817, SC. I found this information on FamilySearch.org. Their children are Mary E. b. abt. 1836, Martha L. b. Dec 1839, William D. b. Sep 1841, Thomas N. b. 4 May 1843, and Malinda C. b. abt 1847.
I have information on Annie Eliza Whitted, who was the wife of Thomas N. Couch. Her parents were Gideon Whitted b. 1817 and Martha Lee b. 1823.
Which Couch do you descend from? Is it Thomas W. Couch, the son of Thomas N. Couch and Annie E. Whitted? Thanks for your help.
