I am a descendent of Sam Cottrill $ Catherine Wolfe. Catherine's brother Jacob was my great-great-great grandfather. His father was Michael (last name spelled Woolf). Sam and Catherine married Oct. 26, 1816. His father was Thomas Cottrill , his mother Catherine Achors who were married March 30, 1791. The WV web site at www.wvculture.org/vrr is a wonderful resource for genealogy
research. I have found a wealth of information there.
My grandfather Jacob Wolfe married Frances Ann Cottrill.
His parents were Daniel Wolfe and Catherine Cottrill Wolfe.
Daniel was the son of Jacob Wolfe and Sara Paugh. Frances Ann, my grandmother was the daughter of Shadrack Cottrill and Elizabeth Nutter Cottrill. I have been doing family research for just two years and find the subject fascinating. Only wish I had become interested while I still had my parents living. Hope this information will help you with your research.
