Hi Walt, I too am researching my Cotrell Ancestors and from 1814 i have five different spellings of the name, i bought the Burke's Peerage World Book of Cotterills so years agoo and this has a copy of the Cotterills Coat of Arms but i do believe that there are so many families of this name that they have done two books, they say that the name means a Cottager or someone who lives in a Cottage, if you are interested in this i can photcopy the Coat of Arms. A lot of the information in this book is very general, the migration of different people and it has a list of Cotrell's in the back but i think a lot of them will be out of date.
