I am the ggggranddaughter of Jeremiah Skelton married to Barthenia Chadwell Cottrell (widow of Moses). They lived in Joy, Livingston Co., Kentucky.
Moses Cottrell (Simon1, John2), d. ca. 1800, in an accident, married Barthenia Chadwell, b. 1775 in Henry County, Virginia, d. Livingston County, Kentucky on 6/29/1848 in the "73 year of her age" (this taken from stone uncovered in Skelton Cemetery on farm once owned by Jeremiah Skelton). Barthenia was the daughter of David Chadwell (Henry Co. and Lee Co., Va. and Tazewell, Tn). Moses served two terms in the Virginia legislature.

d. ca. 1870, married Mary Ewing
David was raised by David Chadwell
Lived Cumberland Gap, Virginia.
