Hi - I'm not near the LOC but plan to be in the LDS Library in Salt Lake City this fall on a research trip. I will check, in the meantime, and see if they have a copy or a film of the book. I am looking for a Samuel Cottrell b. in VA about 1820 or earlier. He later went to Chautauqua, NY and then to Lenawee Co., MI where he acquired the original patent on 160 Ac. in 1837. He first appears on an agricultural census in 1845 and then by 1850 disappears. His son is, at that time, living with an uncle. Samuel married Desire Sullivan of NY.
I will let you know if the book will be availablt to me.
