Cottrell Family Genealogy Forum

I cannot express how pleased I am with all of this information. THANK YOU! I could not locate him in the 1830 census. No wonder, with that indexing. I would have never found that on my own. Pryor going to Livingston County, Kentucky in 1830 makes sense. The woman that I suspect was his daughter, Talitha, had married by then and moved to that area with her husband, Benjamin Aaron. They married earlier in White County, Illinois. This is ALL starting to fit. I also believe that he had two sons, Nelson and Thomas. Thomas shows up in the 1840 Hamilton County, Illinois census as "Thom Cottral". Pryor did not live in that county in 1840, but his sister Talitha did. Pryor did buy land in Hamilton County. I suspect that was a purchase he made for his son. I will also post something on the Cottrill forum. Maybe someone has some information which ties Pryor to generations further back in Virginia. Will I ever have absolute proof of this? Maybe not. But sometimes you luck out with a name like this: Pryor Cottrell (unusual). Don't think there were many of these, ever. Makes sense that he was the son of John Cottrell and a female xxxx Pryor. I remember seeing that on this forum. THANKS AGAIN, you made my day. Hopefully I will be able to pass this information on to others who are interested.
