For anyone interested in the link between Martha Eubanks and Polly Cottrell Bolton, Martha is actually the sister of Richard Bolton's 2nd wife, Elizabeth W. Griffin, and not of Polly Cottrell (Martha Eubanks is not Martha Cottrell Exum).
One of the letters from the Virginia Historical Society was addressed to Elizabeth W. Griffin but not signed. The writing of this letter, however, is very similar to Martha Eubanks' writing in another letter. Richard Bolton's wife in the 1850 census was Elizabeth W., and they married on March 4, 1824 in Nelson County, VA (she is listed as Betsy W. Griffin). John Eubank married Martha Griffin on Nov 13 1826 in Nelson County, VA. (Marriage information from ancestry.com, Virginia Marriages 1740-1850 database).
