Hello,
I am looking for additional info about George B. Cottrell and his wife Hepsebeth Noggle.
They were each born about 1807. In 1870, they have moved from Michigan to Iowa and are shown to be living in Cerro Gordo, IA but the name is spelled as CAUTRELL!
They married Sept. 4, 1828 in Greene Co. OHIO and moved soon afterward to Berrien Co. MI.
They had the following children:
A J Cottrell b. 1829 [name may well have been Andrew Jackson]
George N. Cottrell b. 1831 [likely named for Hepsey's father, George Noggle]
Elizabeth J. Cottrell b. 1833
Hiram N. Cottrell b. 1836
Francis M. Cottrell 1838 [likely Francis Marion]
John D. Cottrell b. 1840
Perry W. Cottrell b. 1843 [Hepsey had a brother named Perry, may have been a family surname]
Benjamin F. Cottrell b. 1846
James M. Cottrell b. 1848
The children's names were from various Census records.
