came to Tennessee in 1786 or thereabouts.
He signed a petition for Tennessee to
become a state.
In the tax records of Knox Co TN he is
listed as being there as early as 1794.
In land records of Knox Co TN his first
transaction is in 1806, then 1811, then
as late as 1837.
His father was Samuel/Lemuel Cottrell from
Sullivan Co TN.
I would like to find descendents of this
Cottrell family.
