Hi Marieta,

I am interested in your knowledge of the Cottrell family. I have been searching for the parents of my Great Grandfather Ezra Fowler, bn 1842, Ohio, for a long time. One of the few clues I had was on census records, Ezra always stated on his mother's place of birth, "born at sea coming from Scotland".
Recently I was given some information that indicated Ezra's father could be Edwin Fowler, who married 2nd, in Ohio, one Bertha Cottrell/Cottrill, bn 1820, d. 1844, and everything fits except I have not been able to find anything about where she came from, Scotland or otherwise.
Do you have in your history any reference to any Cottrells' coming to the states from Scotland in about 1818/1820? Or any information about one Bertha Cottrell/Cottrill, bn 1820?

Thank you for answering,
Darline Fowler Smith
