I don't think I have anything to do with the Cottrell family but, you made mention of one Moses Wright in your original post. From the dates anyone in my family has been able to gather of 1800-1882, what I found in your post fits rather well into the timeline. If the son of the Moses Wright that you found is named Lafayette Wright then I have found what I am looking for and can finally get past the dead end.
