Tip's son was Frederick Cottrell, an only child, my grandfather. Fred was born in 1893. Tip was a sheriff in the area and killed in the line of duty. Fred's wife was Vesta Bush. Tip's wife is of unknown name. At the very base of Cumberland Gap look out is a tiny village, Tiprell. Named after Tip. At least in was still there in the early 1970's. Thanks for any relevant info. or leads.
