There are a number of deeds for a Lemuel Cottrell in Chautauqua Co., NY beginning about 1820. There is some confusion between Lemuel and Samuel Cottrell and it is difficult to tell if they are two different people or not. Lemuels wife is given as Sophia. Hope this helps you - I didn't have a lot of luck with my Samuel.
