Cotton's East Texas

My grandfather's name was Harvey George Washington Cotton. He worked for Katy Railroad for almost 40 years. His father's name was Davy Crockett Cotton. His wife's name was Mary Cabiness and they came from North Carolina, (I believe). She was thought to be a full blodd Choctaw Indian. I need to know if anyone has this information for me. My daughter is about to enter college in one year and we will be able to get a few scholarships for her if this is true. Thank you, Pam Rakestraw. I do have more information about the Cotton's of East Texas and elsewhere, but I don't currently have it with me. I will try to answer questions if anyone has any.
