The Jean Cotton page the other person suggested is a good one for you to check out. I put in my data into that page. The only shaky part of my data is the link between Lofton and Abner Cotton. I can't find any definite proof of the connection, but I am very secure in the conclusion based on lots of decent circumstantial evidence. Incidentally I am descended from Lofton's brother Radford L. . I am convinced that mention about "Lofton and Loddy" in the history of Escambia which came from Riley's history of Conecuh county was referring to Radford. I suspect the L. in his name was Lodwick or something like that. There were no other relatives of Lofton in Conecuh co during the time Riley was covering, so this has to be true.
