Does anyone have any information on Synthia Cotton 1812-1916 (yes, she was 104). She came down the Cherokee (also called Byler Trail) with two brothers (I don't know their names) to Fayette County, Alabama. Who were her parents? Were they from South Carolina or Tennessee? I have never seen a husband listed and family tradition has it she never married and her children were with a man named Johnson although one reference says there was a "Mr. Cotton". She was a blacksmith and a Methodist of British and some native descent (Cherokee or Chickasaw?) I am descended of her son, George Cotton. I will share what little I have. Thank you!
