I am trying to find William Cotton who was stated as the father of Caleb STEVENS.
Caleb was born on 10 October 1842 at Winsford, Somerset, UK. His birth was registered twice at Tiverton, Devon, one certificate stating his name as Caleb Stevens, the other as Caleb Cotton, both state mother's name as Mary Stevens and father William Cotton.
He was baptised at Winsford Church on 22 January 1843 as Caleb Cotton Stevens, his mother shown as Mary Stevens, spinster.
Caleb is shown on the 1871 census at Kingsbrompton, Somerset, aged 28, but I have been unable to find any record of him on the 1851 or 1861 census.
Would anyone recognise a William Cotton who lived or stayed in the Somerset/Devon area at that time?
