Thanks for the prompt response. To the best of my knowledge I am not related to this Cotton family. My interests are in building a data base for all cottons in Alabama. My family is #24 in the Cotton DNA data base. I am James Braxton Cotton. One of those ironies in life is that I am researching the Cotton surname but my surname ought to be Plowman.
I am also the James Cotton that composed message #2724 in response to Jerry Alsup. In that message I delineated data I gathered on James Cotton and this data differs from the information posted with family #34 in the Cotton DNA data base. I want to compare the data and gather the sources for further research and comparison.
