I am a direct 11th generation descendent of William Cotton of Strawberry Bank. I believe from what I have learned that there is little evidence that he was the son or Sir Allen. Every source that I have turned to, has never been able to make the direct connection back to England of William. It is reported that sometime after the Strawberry Bank settlement, the town authorities burned all the personal records of the inhabitants, for unknown reasons, and therefor created the infamous "brick wall" so that many connections to the old country were lost. It has now been 7 years that I have been trying to find out William's ancestry to no avail.
