My ggrandmother Laura Irene Cotton was born in 1852 in Monroe Co., AL. Her parents were Theophilus and Keziah. I believe Keziah's maiden name was Cates but not sure. Would like to know more about the Cotton's and Cates's. Irene married Rueben Benjamin Franklin Pierce in 1874 in AL. In 1880 they were in Freestone Co., TX. Frank died sometime after 1882 and before 1900. In 1900, Irene and her 3 children were in Lee Co., TX.
