I need information on John Ira Ellis Cotten. On his application for a Spanish Land Grant in Texas in 1833, he states that he was born in Tennessee. He married Abigail HERRING, born in SC, in Claiborne County, Mississippi in 1821. Abigail and John Ira Ellis Cotten had 8 daughters and 2 sons. Abigail Cotten and her children are on the 1850 census of DeSota Parish, Louisiana, and the family moved to Limestone County, Texas c 1854. Does anyone have information on ancestors of John Ira Ellis Cotten and his wife, Abigail HERRING COTTEN?
