Hikaru,

Thank you for your informative response. I have read many of your postings on genforum.com and have been impressed by the thoroughness of your research and the obvious effort you put into each response.

Regarding your suspicion that Anne Mylone (Malone--wife of William Malone) mentioned as being a kinswoman to Thomas Cotton I in his 1718 will, and who you say may be the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth Cotton: It appears that Anne, wife of William Malone, could have been single in 1704 when you say that an Anne Cotton appeared as holding 50 acres in Virginia from Queen Anne. According to a premier Malone researcher, Dr. Randolph Malone (who wrote a 1400 page book on the Malone family of Surry Co., VA), Anne Malone’s first child was not born until c1705, so it is possible that she could have been Anne Cotton as late as 1704.

Forrest
