Hi Alec

My family has all been CofE, some very much so, others rather less observant. Our Cotton lineage runs from Derbyshire, although a marriage of Emmanuel Cotton to Mary Mahor (1852) makes me wonder about an Irish connection through the female side. I do have a half-family with a John Cotton born 1898 but I can't see any direct link and my knowledge there is a bit patchy. As I say I have many Cotton BMD references on file which we might use to assisy you. Also, have you tried Ross Cotton who manages the Cotton GOON site? He is very helpful.

It might be easier on the Forum if you contact me directly via email, do you think?

Regards

Brian
