Thanks cousin!! I wondered if it wasn't something like that. The Thomas Cotton b. 1743 Edgefield, I thought had married Anne Mansfield. Where did that come from? Maybe Thomas married 2x!? Have never seen Charles placed in Thomas's family, but it would fit nicely. The given names of WILLIS, SAMUEL, JOHN, carry down. Especially the Willis Cotton. That's what made me feel certain that Charles belonged to this family!! Just could not prove it, well, it still is not totally proven, but now, I have something to go on!! Thanks ever so much. Keep in touch. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I hadn't checked the Cotton gen. for a while!
